A Family Commitment
Our Story
Our story began back in 2005, when brothers Stephen and Mark started the business from the corner of a friend’s industrial unit (which they quickly grew out of). Both worked full time from the very beginning, juggling stock, deliveries, and everything in between. Behind the scenes, Stephen’s wife Hilary kept the books balanced, while Susan supported the business alongside her own work. All four invested and became directors, very much a family-built company from day one.
Growing the Business
The business grew naturally through word of mouth and personal connections. As demand increased, Mark began visiting potential customers face-to-face, securing contracts with groups of nursing homes and schools. Over the years, the company moved premises several times to keep up with growth, eventually settling into its current unit in 2018. The team has always stayed small and close-knit, usually around 5–6 people, with many roles filled by family members.
A New Chapter
In 2020, Hilary left her outside job to join the business full time. By 2025, Stephen and Hilary decided it was time to retire. Although a buyer was found, Mark realised he wasn’t ready to step away. A true grafter with a genuine love for the business, and more than a touch of daft humour, Mark and his wife Susan bought Stephen and Hilary out, becoming the sole directors on 1st November 2025.
Since then, the company has become even more of a family affair. Daughters Heather and Sarah have joined the team, with a long-term plan for them to take over in the future.
Meet the Team
Mark continues to lead from the front as the main delivery driver and stock controller, bringing his unstoppable work ethic and plenty of laughs to everything he does.
Susan stepped fully into the office side of things in September 2025. With years of experience behind her, she’s quickly mastered the systems and accounts and now firmly runs the office. She keeps everyone organised, on schedule, and moving forward, though on busy days the line between caring organiser and full-blown office dictator can get a little blurry — always in the best possible way!
Heather, who previously worked with the company for 10 years, is a dedicated, hard worker who knows the products, deliveries, and daily operations inside out, and is now learning stock ordering and control. She’s very much a force to be reckoned with.
Sarah is learning every aspect of the business while helping with deliveries, and both she and Heather are passionate about bringing fresh ideas and modernising the company for the future. She thinks of herself as the comic relief, though that depends on who you ask.
Looking Ahead
To support this exciting new chapter, Susan, Heather, and Sarah are all currently completing a bookkeeping course to deepen their understanding of the business, helping ensure it continues to grow, evolve, and thrive for years to come.
